Biodrying or Bio-drying

Biodrying or Bio-drying

Biological process to remove moisture from a waste stream to produce RDF (Refuse Derived Fuel). By going through an initial composting stage the biodegradable fraction of MSW is heated up. The heat which is generated by the aerobic degradation of organic matter is used to evaporate moisture from the waste stream. Biodrying processes take between 8-28 days depending on the characteristics of the input material. Bio-drying increases the calorific value of waste stream without stabilizing the organic matter.
